Gary Teeley joined the textiles industry in 1983 at the age of sixteen. During the early years Gary was a general worker, delivering to hotels in London, working as an operator in various laundries in various departments, gaining the valuable knowledge and skills he knows he would require to step in to Management. Gary started in Management in 1987 at the tender age of 20 but through his hard working ethics gained as a general worker he quickly worked his way up the ladder to where he is today, as a General Manager. In 1991 Gary took time out of the Textiles Industry and joined the British Police Service where he served for six years before leaving and rejoining the Textiles Industry, again in Management. In 1997 to 2001 Gary was the proprietor of a laundry that served bespoke clients, processing only Table Linen, Napkins and other Banqueting items.
He is currently working as the General Manager at the Al Habtoor Laundry Services since January 2017 and has been in the GCC for 16 years now.

Usman Tareen has more than 17 years of experience in strategy financial services, assurance, advisory and business risk. Usman has experience in corporate finance (raising debt, modelling valuations, conducting due diligence), strategy planning and implementation particularly with mature and start-up operations, turnaround management and business restructuring. Usman joined Butlers Laundry in 2013 in capacity of CFO and was promoted to head Butlers Laundry from 2015 after successfully restructuring the Company. Andrew Glassford, Operations Director – New Generation Laundry
With 25 years industry experience, Andrew has worked in and for laundries of every size and scale. At one end of the spectrum this means building brand new state of the art facilities at the other it’s helping to introduce best practice into 30-year old plants.
As a director at NewGen his role is to ‘make laundries better and make better laundries’. Enthusiasm and passion are his hallmarks, tempered by an eye for detail and a recognition that we all must do some boring stuff to make the funs bits work. Steve is currently the Managing Director at LTC Worldwide, an independent consultancy, training and testing service for the Laundry Industry. As a global expert in textiles and laundry, he is well placed to advise laundries and drycleaners in the Middle East which suppliers and services to use. Steve is also a Fellow of the Guild of Cleaners and Launderers. During the Gulf Laundrex panel discussion, Steve will discuss the latest developments in the industry including the Xeros washing extractor which uses up to 80% less water than conventional machines.
Steve gained a degree in Laundry and Drycleaning Management whilst with the Lakeland Pennine Laundry Group of Laundries and Drycleaners during the late 1980’s. Here he acquired both Production and Management experience in large Laundries and Drycleaning units. He joined a leading OPL equipment supplier in the early 1992 and became a leading authority in Ozone Technology, Wet-cleaning, Healthcare laundering and the profitable operation of smaller ‘In-house’ on premise laundries.
